Stonewall Ministries got it's start when Nathan Sobers moved to the Palm Spring area in 2016, and started meeting folks who had grown up in the church but had left as a result of being rejected due to their sexual orientation.  It soon became clear that God was calling him to reach out to those who had experienced spiritual wounds inflicted by traditional expressions of Christianity.  Working with Community Presbyterian Church of Cathedral City, the idea of a new worshipping community was born.  A Leadership Team was put together in the summer of 2017, goals and values established and we began worshiping as a faith community in January 2018.  While reaching out to the "de-churched" is Stonewall Ministries primary mission, we welcome anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of what it means to be a Christian in the 21st Century. We are proud to be a part of the 1001 New Worshiping Communities initiative of the Presbyterian Church USA, and a recognized New Worshiping Community of the Presbytery of Riverside.
