Stonewall Ministries is not your parents church.  Here, it's not about being told what to believe, but about finding a place where you can discover God's voice.  Whether you are a person in doubt or a person of faith, come be you.  Not to be judged, not to be told you're wrong.  We are a community of acceptance, healing and joy for those denigrated, rejected, ignored or left behind.

Our Core Values
  1. You won’t have to worry whether you will be welcomed, accepted and appreciated. You will be. Period.
  2. You don’t have to believe what the Pastor believes. You can have a life of your own outside Stonewall Ministries that will not be judged.
  3. You don’t have to give up your beliefs when you attend Stonewall Ministries.
  4. The only thing we are conservative about is God-given resources: living creatures, air, earth, water and the like.
  5. You don’t have to leave your other churches to be part of our Celebration Circle.
  6. Stonewall Ministries won’t burden you with guilt, anxiety but we may help you lighten your load.
  7. Stonewall Ministries is not a traditional, institutional church. We are people gathering to explore and celebrate the ways God is moving in their lives.
  8. Stonewall Ministries is an open community that honors the ways God is disrupting our lives and enlightening our paths.
  9. We share our struggles as we each weep and laugh, testing outcomes, finding hope, as we each make a way forward.
Stonewall Ministries got its start when Nathan Sobers moved to the Palm Spring area in 2016, and started meeting folks who had grown up in the church but had left as a result of being rejected due to their sexual orientation.  It soon became clear that God was calling him to reach out to those who had experienced spiritual wounds inflicted by traditional expressions of Christianity.  Working with Community Presbyterian Church of Cathedral City, the idea of a new worshipping community was born.  A Leadership Team was put together in the summer of 2017, goals and values established and we began worshiping as a faith community in January 2018.  While reaching out to the "de-churched" is Stonewall Ministries primary mission, we welcome anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of what it means to be a Christian in the 21st Century. We are proud to be a part of the 1001 New Worshiping Communities initiative of the Presbyterian Church USA, and a recognized New Worshiping Community of the Presbytery of Riverside.
